Understanding and insight have clear Biblical significance. But if they alone were the key to fruitfulness, the church in North American would be the most fruitful in history (rather than struggling and often stagnant).
Another key ingredient is missing—practical, hands-on discipleship/mentoring in the skills and experience for enjoyable, effective and reproducible evangelism and discipleship.
Over the past two decades, increasingly effective Disciple-Making Movements (DMMs) have developed in many parts of the world to reveal again the New Testament power of reproducing generations of disciples.
I have shared in researching and reporting related insights through Mission Frontiers, and in promoting such books as T4T: A Discipleship Re-Revolution: The Story Behind the World’s Fastest Growing Church Planting Movement and How it Can Happen in Your Community!
While my involvement in researching and promoting such insights has inspired many to aim for similar results, I have found that simply presenting such insights isn’t usually enough to bring forth multiplying fruitfulness.
Most people also need practical, hands-on discipleship/mentoring experience to integrate these insights into their ministries.
